Passion Beyond Normal: How farmers and researchers are finding solutions to Africa's hunger

Drastic changes in the global economy and climate have enormous implications for the livelihoods of poor producers and consumers in agricultural communities. Sub-saharan Africa is more affected by those changes than other regions because it has more limited resources for coping with them. Its people have already been hit hard by soaring grain prices and will feel continued shocks unless forceful measures are taken to enhance the productivity and resilence of Africa's food systems.
